At the beginning of April, just before Easter, I was lucky enough to be invited along to the Pure Patisserie Bake School’s soft launch of their Cake decorating Master Class!
By the end of the class you will get to go home with a three layer, fully iced and decorated vanilla sponge cake! I couldn’t believe I could make sure a beautiful cake! Every year I make birthday cakes for family members, and they always come out looking wonky, but made with love. This cake is another level and I was so proud of my creation by the end of the day! I learnt so many new baking tips throughout the day which will stay with me forever!
I remember my first day at school so vividly, it only seems like yesterday!
I escaped, (maybe that’s not quite the right word!), what I did was ask my teacher if I could go to the bathroom and rather than going to the loo, I bolted down the corridor to the staffroom where I found the lovely Deputy Head Teacher and enjoyed a lovely cuddle with her! I missed my mum and my little sister who I knew were at home and I didn’t want to be at big school….I wanted a hug and I wanted to go home!
Well, it didn’t take long for me to make new friends and settle into the new routines. I have many happy memories of Primary School.
Starting Reception can be daunting for parents and children, but it does mark the start of a new and exciting chapter. Like me, before you know it, your child will be making new friends, learning new skills and becoming increasingly independent.
There really is a lot to think about, and naturally as parents, we worry when our children start school. Will they make friends? Do they need to be able to read and write already? What will the other parents be like?

The clinic, known as LBC in town and it’s brightly yellow coloured fascia is Buckingham’s first multidisciplinary complementary healthcare clinic right in the heart of town and is the brainchild of founder, Simi Godagama who had a vision some 20 years ago to establish a holistic clinic in Buckingham one day. A vision that started while travelling enroute to her father’s patients and colleagues, often via Buckingham town centre.
Stowaway Festival, previously known locally as The Festival of Beer, is a new three-day festival with camping this summer from August 19-22 in Stowe, Buckinghamshire.
Since opening our doors for the first time a little over the year ago, one of our favourite aspects of getting to know everyone here in Buckingham has been the sense of community that we’ve encountered.
