Buckingham’s Best Western Pool was taken over by a baby Buzz Lightyear, Batman and Supergirl (to name just a few!) as they all took part in a splashathon to raise money for baby charity, Tommy’s. The little ones up to four years old were sponsored to swim a width in the pool in fancy dress

splashathon - in the pool

My very own Batman took on this challenge very proudly as he swam across the pool on his woggle (noodle float) by himself. George absolutely loved dressing up as batman in the pool and could be quite disappointed to realise he wont have his mask this Thursday!

We sang different songs to the ones we normally do, and the toddlers got to choose different superpowers written on signs on the other side of the pool. Each different superpower meant a different activity to undertake in the swimming pool!

Katy, George’s swimming teacher, along with her daughter,  baked a selection of cakes for a donation towards Tommy’s. George certainly enjoyed his chocolatey treat – after all, its hard work being a super hero and saving the day!

happy george

Tommy’s charity is a very important charity supporting families with baby loss. Sadly 1 in 4 pregnancies end in loss, devastating families. Tommy’s provide vital research into miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth, so they can keep saving babies’ lives.

Thank you!
