MK18 Private Medical Practice is a private GP practice with face to face consultations readily available from just £65.
The practice was set up by Dr Kevin Barnett just over three years ago and can be found just 5 minutes outside of Buckingham near Stowe Castle.
Dr Kevin Barnett grew up in Buckingham and served as a GP at North End Surgery for 5 years before moving through various Clinical and Medical Director jobs across the South East and London whilst simultaneously working as a self-employed GP. In November 2018 he finally took the plunge and opened his own private surgery on the outskirts of town. Committed to providing excellent healthcare to the local community, @MK18 Private Medical Practice has come to be known for its outstanding level of service and its highly-skilled, genuine, caring team. The practice was also rated as Good by the CQC at the first attempt.
Dr Barnett is an experienced clinician, having qualified 21 years ago, and alongside @MK18 he currently practices as a GP in urgent care centres and supports the local Mini and Junior section of Buckingham Rugby Club. Over that period, he has gained extensive experience in treatment of acute illness, chronic disease and injuries – including repairing broken rugby players’ faces!
Dr Barnett has seen the popularity of the practice grow over the last 18 months, and in response has recently increased the practice hours to ensure appointments are readily available for patients to book online or over the phone – in many cases seeing them within 48 hours.
Part of this growth has seen the need for additional team members, and in 2021 @MK18 welcomed Dr Helen Butler to assist with GP consultations. Dr Butler currently works at the practice twice per month. She is able to see all patients attending @MK18 and also has particular interest and knowledge around women’s health, provides several specific services at the practice including cervical smears, insertion and removal of coils and contraceptive advice. She also provides a menopause advice and treatment service at the practice.
In 2021 we also welcomed Sarah Hencken to the practice. Sarah is a very experienced community nurse who assists with blood tests, ECGs and wound care. Our latest addition to the team is Alison, Practice Administrator, who brings a wealth of NHS experience to the practice. Last but not least, the team is headed up by Dr Barnett’s wife, Zoe, who is Practice Manager. We genuinely believe you will not meet a more friendly team.
