In celebration of this milestone we would like to highlight the journey so far…
The clinic, known as LBC in town and it’s brightly yellow coloured fascia is Buckingham’s first multidisciplinary complementary healthcare clinic right in the heart of town and is the brainchild of founder, Simi Godagama who had a vision some 20 years ago to establish a holistic clinic in Buckingham one day. A vision that started while travelling enroute to her father’s patients and colleagues, often via Buckingham town centre.

Simi earmarked this town as a place she could see her vision for health and well-being grow strong. Over the years she learnt Osteopathic, Ayurvedic and Chinese Medicine and acupuncture and was fortunate enough to train with the late global leader of acupuncture Prof Anton Jayasuriya who also taught her own father more than 50years ago.
Her Ayurveda and natural health ancestry goes back to her own grandfather who was an agricultural manager in Sri Lanka and her father who ran a small medical clinic in a rural village in Sri Lanka. Nature and harmony has been an inheritance that Simi feels strongly about and shows in her work, be that as a published author, exhibited artist or practitioner.
Dr Shantha Godagama, Simi’s father was one of the earliest qualified Ayurvedic Doctors to practice in the country and widely known as “The Father of Ayurveda” in the UK and serves as an honorary patron to the BAMC (British Ayurvedic Medical Council) where Simi, LBC Director also serves as an executive board member and committee chair. Together they are making history in the UK to standardise the practice of Ayurveda.

With immense heritage, vision, energy and passion, Simi serves LBC as its director and oversees the practice and its progress as well as conducting her own acupuncture practice.
In 2020, the pandemic happened and everyone was shutting up shop, including Simi at her private clinics further afield, however an opportunity arose to rescue and reinvigorate the local high streets with something we were all in need and awareness off- taking back control of our health. With a year of redevelopment and refurbishments, and a stoke of yellow paint here and there, LBC was ready for public.
They inaugurated its offering by inviting our very own Mayor, Margaret Gateley earlier this Spring, who stood outside the clinic on Market Square and made a powerful speech about the importance and impact of complementary medicine for our future health and well-being.

can very much be in harmony with allopathic medicine (especially as new research allows the bridging of medical concepts).
Simi, being a firm advocate for both western and eastern medicine felt the time was right to offer this to Buckingham.
First, however there was a matter of finding the best in the field. With a strong eye for true practitionership, premier professionals in the field were approached, who followed a common ethos of compassion, a desire to support the wider community, and a true passion for their work with a collaborative and professional mindset. So the LBC cliniccollective was formed.
